"You
will smile, chuckle and laugh out loud. Denny
is quite a story teller and what a wonderful
life he has led!
A proud American who served in the armed forces,
an athlete on a basketball scholarship studying
at UCLA to be a physical education teacher, a
stickler for good health, an actor, TARZAN and
more!
Over 45 years as a character actor he knew
Katharine Hepburn, Lucille Ball, Bob Hope, the
list goes on. A devoted family man and hard
worker, his book is extremely entertaining (and
true).

I love acting. Acting is a team sport not unlike
basketball, which I played at UCLA. Sports and acting
use the same language. There are stars in both. There
are role players in both, and both have coaches.
There is a selflessness in each. The desire to let the
other player/actor carry the ball/play for the good of
the team/cast. Team work, give and take is important for
the best performance of the group. Both use repetition
to learn how to be the best performer.
Rehearsal and practice mean the same thing. The athlete
and the actor cannot be afraid to fail. They both can
make mistakes, drop the ball, fumble the line, look
foolish and still not quit. They can learn from this
chaos and get up and try again.
Practice does not make
perfect but it does make progress. On these pages you can see me progress from
role to role, endeavor to endeavor.
I've had some really fun parts and
I've tried to highlight my favorites. I've played a lot of cowboys, but I also
got to ride elephants as Tarzan, be cloned in Battlestar Galactica, be marooned
with Gilligan and once I even got to soar around as Superman.
